Chapter 12
The teams had gone to their respective dugouts, and we waited while a member of the school's choir came out and sang the national anthem. The girl did a great job, and we were all cheering loudly for her when Luke's team ran onto the field. He was the starting pitcher, and my throat was tight with nervousness, just like it always was when I watched him pitch.
As I said, I've always been a fan of the sport, but Jen is an expert. She pointed out a dozen details about the players that I would never have noticed. When Luke struck out the first batter, out, I breathed a great sigh of relief, and our bleachers cheered wildly.
"Look at that extension!" Jen said. Her eyes were shining with pride and joy as she watched Luke pitch, "I can tell he's been doing the stretches I showed him, he looks much more relaxed in his release. Oh, Gwen, he really is a special athlete."
She continued to point think out throughout the whole game. Luke's team got an early lead, and he even got an RBI off a single hit. His pitching was so dominant that the opposing team couldn't score a run. They got a couple hits off him, but nothing more. The coach pulled Luke and put in a closer when the game looked all but won.
The closing pitcher gave us all a fright in the stands when he gave up two runs in the last inning but was finally able to put the other team away. It was a solid win for the team, and they were now tied for second in their division. A few more wins and they would be in the play-offs.
The night was chilly, and Jen and I had been forced to put on our jackets mid-way through the game. We stood huddled together for warmth outside the locker room, our arms inside each other's jacked, wrapped around one another's waist as we shivered. The group of co-eds was hangout near us, gossiping, and posting to social media with their phones out.
When the players began leaving the locker room, I saw a tall, pretty blond from the group watching with interest, when Luke emerged, she grinned in pleasure at the sight of him. I felt a twinge of jealousy and heard an almost inaudible growl from Jen as she watched the girl too. The girl went to say something to Luke, twirling a lock of her golden hair in her fingers artfully as she pressed her firm young breasts together with her upper arms.
Luke ignored the girl, though, his eyes passing over her as if she didn't exist. I just had time to see her frown in annoyance, and then Luke saw Jen and I. His eyes were bright with excitement as he jogged over.
"You two must be freezing," he said when he got to us. Pulling off his thick coat, he wrapped it around our shoulders, "Here, I'm still all jacked up from the game."
"You were amazing, Luke," I said, leading us back to my car, "Your team really has a shot."
"Your form was perfect," Jen said, grinning up at him, her teeth chattering, "I could tell you've been doing those stretches and workouts. Your extension is something, but your power had jumped up a lot."
“Yea I wanted to thank you,” Luke said with a boyish grin, “I thought they were silly at first, but I’ve been seeing the results. I’m less sore after I pitch now, and I thought harder, which doesn’t make sense.”
“That’s because you’re no longer throwing with your arm, you’re using your whole body,” Jen said. They continued to chat about his pitching and the game. She even gave pointers on a few of his teammates that she had noticed, things like their batting stances and conditioning.
We piled into the car, Jen taking the backseat, and I fired it up and began driving home.
“Are we dropping Jen off?” Luke asked me when he saw where we were headed.
“No,” I said, “She wanted to come by for dinner and help celebrate your victory.”
"Oh, cool," he said, but I caught the hint of disappointment in his voice, and his face fell as he turned to stare out the window. Jen grinned at me in the mirror, and she bit her bottom lip and winked.
By the time we got home, Luke was in better spirits. I told him to go upstairs, shower, and change while Jen and I got the table set. I felt butterflies dancing in my stomach as he ran upstairs. Jen clutched my arm, and I saw in her face that she was dreadfully nervous too.
We ran into the guest bedroom and changed quickly. We had planned for this earlier and had out outfits all laid out. Then we went into the kitchen and pulled out the take-out I’d gotten earlier. I had stopped by at Luke’s favorite restaurant and brought home a few appetizers and entrees. The table was set, and everything was ready.
I heard the shower cut off upstairs, and then Jen and I hurried into the living room. My butterflies were a storm in my stomach, and I saw a bead of sweat tracing its way down Jen's temple. I reassured her everything would be fine, and hoped the words would quiet my fears, but they didn't.
We felt like two schoolgirls meeting their crush for the first time as Luke came down the stairs. He paused at the base of the stairs and glanced around the living room, not seeing us.
“Mom?” He asked.
"Over here, honey," I said, drawing his gaze to the dimly lit living room.
Luke gasped when he saw us, his eyes wide as saucers. We had lit candles to light the room, and all was bathed in their soft golden light. Jen and I were dressed in matching negligee, each with an arm around the other's waist. Black lacy pieces with garters and stockings. Luke's eyes traveled over my busty form and then widened even further as he took in Jen. Her slender body looked terrific in the lacy black pushup bra, and the tiny panties showed off the gap in her thighs to perfection.
“I told you I had a special surprise for you,” I said with a grin.
“I insisted on joining in,” Jen said, stiff with nervousness, “I hope you don’t mind.”
"Mind?" Luke said, his startlement turning to awe and joy.
"I just want you to know I didn't say, anything baby," I said with a wink, then I turned to Jen and kissed her on the cheek, whispering in her ear, "Go to him, tell him how you feel."
She looked at me fearfully for one second, this hadn’t been in our plan, but I felt the two of them needed the push. Then fear turned to resolve as she slipped out of my arms and approached Luke slowly.
