I looked at Ted and said, "We have to pull that disc and put it away someplace. I don't want it to that to come back and bite them in the ass."

Ted said, "As an officer I can't tamper with anything that may become evidence. I don't remember if we put a disc in the recorder or not. The next time I look at the recorder and if there isn't a disc in it, then I can honestly say I didn't find a disc in the machine when I looked. If someone was to push that red eject button down there while I am looking at this book over here, I won't know if there is or isn't a disc, and both of us will be covered."

Ted looked down and opened a magazine on the desk while I found the red eject button and pushed it. Sure enough the disc came out. I opened my safe and put the disc in there, then locked my safe again. Ted looked at the recording device after I closed my safe and said, "Oh, Dan, I must have forgotten to put a disc in your recording device. I'm sorry we don't have anything to turn over to the police."

I looked at Ted and said, "Oh well, I guess the guy who installed my system didn't get around to putting a disc in it yet."

Ted replied, "You know with all the technical problems we had when we added those last few cameras, it was just overlooked."

I looked at Ted and said, "You know the scary part is, those guys know about my security system and he made a comment about the number of cameras I have. Can you imagine they've scoped us out pretty well since Friday night?"

I continued by saying, "Ted, we can't tell anyone what we know. I certainly don't want Mary and Shelly to know our house has additional surveillance. Apparently they know we live a nudist lifestyle here and he's going to be discreet, so I don't see any reason to change anything now. I'm hungry, let's go get everyone ready to go out and eat."

Ted and I walked back into the dining room and I said, "Let's all go get dressed so we can go eat. Terri, I'll let you use my cell phone on the way into the city so you can arrange a reservation for us.

Everyone was looking at me and I asked, "What's the matter?"

Kim asked, "Is everything ok?"

I smiled and said, "Absolutely. We are right on track to have some fun today, so let's get dressed so we can get going."

I continued by saying, "While we are out this morning, I want to stop by that homeless veteran place today. Since we didn't have any food left over from our picnic, I want to make a donation; I want to do whatever I can to help out. When we get back from Germany, I'm going to find out what our company policy is for hiring veterans. If there isn't a policy, then I'm going to create one."

Kim spoke up saying, "You know, Dan, that's an excellent idea. I'm going to check what we have for a policy also and if we don't have one at my company, I'll start one also."

Ted said, "Dan, I found out where that place was the other day. It's located on Front Street just like Mary thought it was. I stopped by there and looked around, but I was in uniform so they all looked at me skeptically."

I said, "Well, come on let's go get dressed and we'll go have breakfast."

Everyone stood up and went upstairs. Kim and I were the last ones to walk up the stairs. Everyone was laughing and joining the friendly banter as they climbed the stairs and walked down the hall. As we passed each room the crowd got smaller. Finally, Kim and I walked into our room and Kim dragged me into my closet and said, "OK, spill it, what's going on?"

I looked at Kim with a smile and said, "Our volunteer guardians decided they weren't ready to give up on us yet because Harold threatened the girls. They wanted me to make sure the disc from the other night wasn't in the recording machine for our security system. He told me they are going to be watching from a distance until they feel we are safe. I asked him about Jeff Simpson's house and after I gave him the address, there is going to be someone watching Jeff's house also. After watching the show the other night and then seeing those people in action, I'm not going to be the one to ask them to stop watching us. Please don't share what I've just told you with anyone else."

Kim smiled at me and said, "Of course not, Dan. I want us to be safe too."

We got dressed and met everyone back downstairs. Terri said, "I hurried and slipped into this dress and had plenty of time to make phone calls while I was waiting for all of you. I have reservations for us at The Majestic."

I looked at everyone and said, "Terri doesn't know it yet, but she has exceptional taste. That's a wonderful place and the food is excellent. I'm positive everyone will enjoy themselves."

Jenna spoke up saying, "I'll take Kevin, Lisa and Becky in my car and follow you."

Terri said, "Dad, I haven't had much chance to drive my car, I want to drive and take Hanna, Mary and Shelly with me and I'll follow you too."

I looked at Ted and said, "I'm going to drive my Escalade and I'll take Kim, Beth, Jake and Kathy if you want to take Carrie, Fred and Marion with you. Do you want to take one of my cars or do you want to take the unmarked car?"

Ted thought about it for a few seconds and then asked, "If it's ok with you, I'll drive your Navigator, you can lead the way and I'll follow behind everyone?"

I smiled and said, "That's an excellent idea."

Ted looked at Mary and Shelly and said, "Go get a bag or something so you can carry your weapon with you. I've got my back up in my ankle holster. I'm going to take the radio with me just in case."

Mary and Shelly went back upstairs and each of them came back down with a purse with their service weapon in it. Mary said, "Boss, I want you to know I had to take out all my tampons so I could fit my pistol in here."

Shelly quickly added, "I had to take my dildo out of here to fit my weapon in my bag. What the hell am I supposed to do if I get horny while we're out?"

Ted smiled, while looking at Mary and Shelly and then said, "Maybe we should check into getting both of you a holster you can wear in a less conspicuous place on your body."​
